Who should you give flowers to on your wedding day?

Who should you give flowers to on your wedding day? The tradition is usually to give a bouquet to both the mother of the bride and the groom. However, once you start broadening it out you might never stop. What about that friend who was involved from the start and was so much help, what about the Aunt who iced the cake, or made the table decorations, what if she gets flowers and ‘x’ doesn’t? The simplest solution is to keep the number of flower recipients as low as possible – besides, you’ve only got two hands…

However, sometimes you just have to give a bouquet to someone else as well.

This next photo is one of my favourites. Old people are great  subjects to photograph, and it’s not uncommon that an older guest is a flower recipient. In this instance, the bouquet recipient was a (then) 93 year old, who’d made it through the whole of her grandson’s wedding. This photo is special, not just because it’s a lovely moment, but because the groom is my brother, and that’s my grandma…
